Megan Thompson Aston was born in Northern Florida, often endearingly called "Southern Georgia" by those who know just how country it actually is. When she was an adolescent, her family relocated to the foothills of North Carolina. It's there she spent her most formative years until the age of 28 when she packed her bags for love and heading down to New Orleans. After having a small backyard wedding and eating her weight in crawfish over 3 years time, the call to move rang again as her new family (her husband & two fur babies) packed their bags for Augusta, GA of the CSRA where she first started Kin & Cottage. In 2023, Meg and her family moved back to Winston-Salem, NC to open our very first brick & mortar in the heart of the Arts District.
Meg has been a natural entrepreneur for most of her life, having started her first real business in 2012, Wild Rituals, a plant-based skincare brand. Wild Rituals was featured in Urban Outfitters, West Elm, & Readers Digest. Meg is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, a leftist, and neurodiverent. Her pronouns are She/Her/Hers.
